BREATHING

The very first piece of the singing fundamentals puzzle is breathing.

This week and next you'll see all 3 training videos from a series I created called Solve he Support Mystery that will explain all you need to know about how to use the breath when you sing.

Now you may think you know how to breathe (and for our usual day to day activities, I'm sure you do a great job at it) but breathing for singing is slightly different.

Take a look at the video above to get all the goss on how it's done.

We're going to tick off all the answers to the questions below:

  • Where do you breathe and how is it different to day to day breathing?
  • Where should you inhale from? Nose or mouth?
  • How you can make the inhale more effortless (and silent)?
  • Starting to feel how and where we'll be controlling the release of air from by pausing after that inhale and holding the breath back

PSST! FOR NEXT WEEK'S BREATHING TRAINING YOU WILL NEED A REGULAR SIZE DRINKING STRAW, SO MAKE SURE YOU GRAB ONE THIS WEEK!

The audio to help you practice inhaling in this different way is below.

SHARE WITH ME: How did you find the breathing video? Did it change the way your singing voice felt? Did you feel any less tension in the body?
